On 15th of February 2017 an awareness programme on Information Security for Government Organization Chief Innovative Officers was conducted at Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration (SLIDA). This was jointly organized by Sri Lanka CERT|CC and UK High Commission. A total of 35 participants from various government departments participated in the programme. The welcome address was by Mr.Lal Dias CEO of Sri Lanka CERT. Mr. Wasantha Deshapriya - Secretary (Ministry Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructure) also spoke at the event highlighting the importance of having such programmes and the positive impact of them to the CIOs. The next speech was by Mrs. Laura Davies, Deputy High Commissioner UK . She spoke on Staying Safe in Cyberspace and how both countries can benefit in the collaborative efforts against cyber crimes. Mr. Jayantha Fernando- Director-Legal Advisor ICTA spoke on the topic of Evolution of IT related laws in Sri Lanka. Mr. Dayalan Nagaratnam - Sri Lanka CERT|CC conducted his presentation on Information Security-Trends and Directions. Also from Sri Lanka CERT|CC Mr.Kanishka Yapa spoke on Information Security-Breach Prevention and Mitigation. Mr. Priyankara Perera from Sri Lanka CERT|CC presented on Implementing Secure Networks . An informative session on Protection of Privacy and Secure use of Social Media was conducted by Mr. Poorna Wickramasinghe - Sri Lanka CERT|CC. Last but not least a keenly followed session on Incident response and mitigation was presented by Mr. Roshan Chandraguptha- Sri Lanka CERT|CC.
